A snap-frame A-board is a pavement sign whose posters change in under a minute on both faces. That is the whole product. Everything else is about whether it stays upright and whether the poster survives the weather.
Both versions use the same 25 mm silver anodised aluminium snap frame. The standard board has a KT board rear panel: lighter, folds flatter, easier for one person to carry out in the morning and back in at night. The steel back adds a rigid rear panel, which stiffens the frame and lowers the centre of gravity. Take it for a windy street, a seafront pitch, or anywhere the board gets knocked by trolleys, bikes and pushchairs. Take the standard where wind is not the issue and the board is carried in and out daily — the weight you save is weight your staff lift twice a day.
A2, A1, B2 and B1. A1 is the everyday pavement format: readable from across the pavement, and the size printers hold as standard. A2 suits a narrow doorway or an indoor position where a larger board would block the route. B2 and B1 are the taller, narrower formats, useful where the pavement is tight but you still want height. Check the B sizes with your printer before committing, since B-series stock is less commonly held than A.
Three things. Wind, which is answered by the steel back and by where the board is placed, not by hope. Glare, which is why the graphics sit behind matte protective covers — a glossy cover on a sunlit pavement is a mirror. And rain, which finds the edge of the poster: print on a water-resistant stock, or treat a paper poster on a wet street as a weekly consumable. The non-slip feet hold on tiles and smooth stone, but they do not make the board safe on a slope. Folded, it takes little space, so it stores behind a door rather than in a stockroom.

Steel back adds weight low down, which is what stops the board walking in wind. On a sheltered indoor floor the standard version is enough; on an open pavement the steel back is the one that is still upright at closing time.
A2 and B2 for narrow doorways and interiors, A1 and B1 where the sign faces a street. B sizes are slightly larger than the A equivalent and give more presence for the same footprint.
