A snap frame opens on all four sides while it stays on the wall. That is the whole product, and it is why it has outlived every more sophisticated poster system: changing a poster takes under a minute, needs no tools and can be done by whoever is on shift. This is the 25 mm profile in anodised aluminium, with an anti-glare cover over the print and mounting either portrait or landscape.
Sizes run A4, A3, B2, A2, B1, A1 and A0. Choose by how far away the reader stands. A4 and A3 are counter, door and lift formats read at arm’s length. A2 and B2 suit a corridor or a queue where people pass close. A1, B1 and A0 are wall formats for a room, a foyer or a shop floor where the poster has to work across a distance. The B sizes are useful when the artwork comes from a poster campaign rather than from office print, so check what your printer is actually producing before standardising on A sizes.
Silver anodised is the default and the safest choice in offices, schools and public buildings, where it reads as neutral hardware. Black frames disappear against dark walls and look more considered in retail and hospitality interiors. Double-sided frames are the different animal: they hang from a ceiling or project from a wall and carry a poster on each face, which is what you want in an aisle, a window or above a walkway where people approach from both directions. Decide that one by position, not by appearance.
The 25 mm profile is the standard indoor width and the right compromise between a frame that holds a large poster flat and one that does not draw attention to itself. The anti-glare cover protects the print from handling and cuts reflections, which matters most under downlights and opposite windows. Two practical points: fix the frame level with the mounting the poster orientation demands, because a frame set for portrait cannot be turned once it is on the wall, and standardise on one or two sizes across a site so that print runs, spare covers and replacement posters stay interchangeable.
