A pop-up counter is a folding frame with a printed wrap that becomes a serving surface in about a minute. It is the piece of furniture a roadshow can carry on a train.
The two models differ in the shape of the frame — one straight-fronted, one curved. Straight sits flush against a wall or beside a second counter, so it is the one to take when counters are ganged in a row or the stand has a back wall behind it. Curved reads as a standalone island and is easier to walk around, which suits an open floor where visitors approach from any direction. Both take a full-colour printed skin and both fold into a transport bag.
The frame springs open, the countertop drops on and the graphic is held by magnetic strips, so there are no tools and nothing small to lose in a hall. The MDF top is the part that takes the abuse — it is a working surface for samples, literature and a card terminal, not a shelf.
Supply the graphic at 1:1 scale, minimum 150 dpi, in CMYK, as tiff, jpg or pdf, with fonts converted into curves. Two habits save a reprint. Convert the fonts before sending, because a missing font substitutes quietly and the first anyone sees of it is the printed panel. And keep the logo and any text away from the vertical edges: the skin wraps a frame, so the extremes of the artwork curve away from the viewer, and a name set tight to the edge is read at an angle by everyone standing in front of the counter.
