A counter shelf is an internal shelf that drops inside a promotional counter, so the stock, leaflets, card reader, tape and coats that pile up during a show have somewhere to live other than the worktop. It is the difference between a counter that looks tidy at 9 am and one that still looks tidy at 4 pm.
There are two, and they are not interchangeable. One shelf is cut for the square Vertus body. The other fits the round Vertus counter and the matching promo stand. You are not measuring anything here — you are identifying the counter you already own. If you are buying counter and shelf together, order them in the same line so the pairing is decided at the order stage rather than on the stand. Both versions drop in without tools, and neither is visible from the front, so the printed wrap on the counter is unaffected.
Counters get used as tables. Within an hour of the doors opening, the top of an unshelved counter is carrying a laptop, an open box of giveaways, two cups and somebody’s jacket, and the branded surface you paid to print has disappeared under clutter. A shelf does not add storage so much as it moves the clutter out of the sightline. The practical rule on a busy stand is that anything staff need more than twice an hour goes on the shelf and everything else stays in the case behind.
If you run several counters across a stand or a retail rollout, order a shelf for each rather than sharing. Shelves are cheap relative to the counter and swapping them between bodies at a venue wastes setup time. Keep the shelf packed with the counter it belongs to and label the transport bag, because a square shelf turning up with a round body is the sort of small error that only shows up when the hall is already open.
