A magnetic LED poster frame is a slim illuminated frame with edge lighting behind the print and a magnetic front panel. The lighting makes the poster read in a bright shop or a dim corridor; the magnetic panel means there is no clip, no screw and no visible fixing on the printed face. A poster change takes seconds and leaves the frame on the wall.
Pick by reading distance, not by the size of the artwork you happen to have. A1 is the format for a corridor, a shop window, a lift lobby or a lobby wall that people read from several metres away and while moving. A2 is a counter, a desk, a lift interior or a queue position where the reader is close and stationary. Both are slim enough to read as a frame rather than a box, so mixing the two sizes in one building still looks like one system. If a poster has to work both as a window message and as a counter message, the A1 in the window and the A2 at the till is a better answer than one compromise size in both places.
The LEDs run at 5000K, a neutral daylight white rather than a warm one, and they are edge-mounted so the light is spread evenly across the face instead of hot in the middle. Design for that. Backlit artwork wants stronger, denser colour than a print meant to be read under room light, because the light behind it lifts everything and washes out pale tints. Solid dark backgrounds with light type work particularly well; large pale areas glow and lose detail. Print on a paper weight that suits backlighting, and check a proof in the frame before committing a print run for a chain of sites.
The frame mounts flat to a wall or hangs on cables, and the choice is usually settled by the building rather than by preference. Glazed shop fronts and glass partitions take the cable version because nothing is fixed into the glass; solid walls take the flat mount. Suspended frames read as double-sided positions in a window, so plan power and cable routes at the same time as the artwork rather than after the frames arrive.
