Aluminium SEG profiles bend when they travel loose, and a bent profile never tensions the fabric properly again. Two sizes. Small takes the frame sections and skin of the standard format; big takes the wider and taller builds. Match the bag to the lightbox you own rather than buying the larger one for flexibility — the interior is precisely fitted, and that fit is the point. Components that cannot shift do not knock against each other in transit, which is where profile damage comes from. In an oversized bag the sections slide and the padding does nothing.
Cardboard survives one journey well, two adequately and the third badly. It absorbs moisture from a wet loading bay, loses its corners and stops holding its shape, and the loss is invisible until the frame goes up crooked. The polyester is tear resistant with additional reinforcement in the areas that take the wear, which is what gives it a long service life across repeated events. Comfortable handles and an adjustable shoulder strap make it a one-person carry, and the bag itself is light.
It is soft luggage for a set that travels in your own van or as hand-loaded cargo, and it protects against handling, shifting and moisture. It is not a flight case. If your lightbox goes out as palletised freight, stacked under other consignments and moved by people who did not pack it, a rigid case is the honest answer. For everything else — events, showrooms, roadshows, point of sale — the bag costs a small fraction of a replacement frame and keeps the system looking professional at the moment of unpacking.
